Pan-African Entrepreneurship Competition

An innovative, new pan-African competition is being launched and it promises to be the best competition of its type for innovation and a focus on business as a force for good.

 

It is presented by the MTN Solution Space, at the Graduate School of Business, at the University of Cape Town (UCT), in partnership with Africa Internet Group (AIG).

 

The best business idea will win the opportunity to make that dream a reality. They will win start-up funding to launch their business, but most importantly, they will receive vital support from AIG, the MTN Solution Space and a network of successful international entrepreneurs.

 

They will also be given access to Facebook developers for technological support should they choose to develop a mobile application. The competition will be open to students from a select number of universities, across 8 different African countries.

Online applications will open on Monday, 1st of February 2016 and will close on Sunday, 27th of March 2016.

 

Winners will be announced at a festival of entrepreneurship, featuring the expert judges, design thinkers and successful entrepreneurs from around the continent. Selected finalists will be flown down to Cape Town, where the festival will be hosted by the University of Cape Town, on the 6th of May 2016.

Prizes to be won;

  1. 1st - $25,000 cash + all expenses trip cost to CT and EF + $15000 from Facebook startup program to build mobile application
  2. 2nd - $5,000 cash + all expenses trip cost to CT and EF
  3. 3rd - $5,000 cash + all expenses trip cost to CT and EF
